Invisalign® treatment is a discreet and convenient orthodontic option for patients of all ages. In fact, there is a special Invisalign® treatment designed just for children. It’s called Invisalign® First.

What is Invisalign® First?

Invisalign® First is an Invisalign® treatment created specifically for small smiles. Children ages 6-10 can benefit greatly from these gentle but effective aligners, which can help expand their dental arches to make space for their current and incoming teeth.

Because Invisalign® treatment uses clear plastic aligners instead of metal brackets and wires, this treatment is extremely discreet and comfortable. Invisalign® First aligners are even removable, so your child can still enjoy their favourite foods and activities during treatment.

How does Invisalign® First treatment work?

When you bring your child in for their free consultation, we can use our 3D iTero scanner to make an accurate digital model of their smile. We will use this model to plan their treatment from start to finish and design a series of aligners custom-made for the needs of their smile.

Each aligner is shaped slightly differently to gently guide your child’s smile into alignment over the course of treatment. To progress through treatment, your child will switch to a new set of aligners every couple weeks as instructed by their Specialist Orthodontist.

Not all children require orthodontic treatment. If you bring your child in for a free consultation with our team, we can determine if treatment could benefit them and if we should wait to begin until they’ve grown and developed further.

For children who can benefit from early interceptive treatment, Invisalign® First can make all the difference. Catching orthodontic issues early can correct them before they worsen and reduce the length and complexity of orthodontic treatment later in your child’s lifetime.
