Will orthodontic treatment work for me?

Every smile is unique, and one type of treatment might not work for everyone. Depending on your age, your goals, and the severity of your orthodontic issue, we might have to take different routes to achieve the results you’re looking for.

The good news is, you are never too old to start orthodontic treatment, and our Specialist Orthodontists can create stunning smile results for even complex cases. We are confident that we can work with you to help you achieve a beautiful new smile.

Common orthodontic issues

Not all people need orthodontic treatment, but for the ones that do, it can be incredibly beneficial. Here are some of the common orthodontics we treat every day at Impression Orthodontics.

Crowding

When there isn’t enough room in your jaw for all your teeth, you experience crowding. Crowded teeth overlap each other, making them difficult to clean and increasing your chance of tooth or gum disease.

Spacing

If you have extra space in your jaws, you may have widely spaced teeth. This can also be caused by small tooth size, or missing teeth. Spacing issues can lead to gingivitis and even tooth loss, so it’s important to get ahead of the issues by protecting the health of your smile.

Common orthodontic issues

Crossbites

Crossbites occur when the upper and lower jaws are misaligned, causing one or more upper teeth to cross to the inside of the lower teeth. This can occur in the front or side of your smile. Crossbites can cause abnormal wear of your teeth, gum disease, and bone loss.

Overbites

Overbites occur when the upper teeth stick out far in front of the lower teeth. It's typically caused by genetics or overactive jaw growth. Overbites can lead to tooth injury, gum issues, jaw joint pain, and heavy wear of the lower teeth if left untreated.

Underbites

An underbite is when your lower teeth protrude past your upper teeth. It can be caused by missing upper teeth, undergrowth of the upper jaw, overgrowth of the lower jaw, or a mix of all three. Underbites can lead to chipping, abnormal tooth wear, and issues with your jaw joints.
